For around 300 years, Lercher's Restaurant has stood for traditional Murau hospitality at the foot of the Schlossberg - Murau Castle of the von Schwarzenberg family. From the Murauer Hütte you can reach the summit with your children in about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Your little ones can spot the next red-white-red markers, watch the grazing cows from a distance, listen to the singing birds and identify the trees at the edge of the forest together with you. The fresh air will do you good.

If you are lucky, you will find some tasty huckleberries and cranberries at the end of August. Snacking, time will fly by and you will reach the summit. Once you arrive, you will be rewarded with a fantastic panorama. Together with your family you can determine the surrounding peaks with the mountains noted on the stone table. Do not forget to sign the summit book and take a stamp, as a symbolic summit victory. Hungry, you march downhill and look forward to your stop at the rustic Murauer Hütte.

The guided tours for children in Murau Castle invite you to discover the history of the town. You will penetrate as far as the dungeon. Learn more about the Schwarzenberg family (former foreign minister of the Czech Republic). During your city walk you will discover the generation playground in the city park. Plan a little time for your children to romp around, The trampoline, the swing, the sandbox, the climbing course and the water playground are already waiting.

Fancy a bike tour? With the train of the Murtalbahn you discover the area and ride to Tamsweg. Once you reach the top, with your bikes in your luggage, the wild ride begins. The small delightful villages line up along the Mur and invite you to linger. Castles shine out of the woods and give rise to speculation. Arrived in Stadl you refresh yourself in the bathing pond. Your children are beside themselves and are already looking forward to the cool refreshment. Enjoy a scoop of ice cream before continuing on your way.

In the most densely wooded district of Styria, you should not miss the Wood Museum. Discover everything about the renewable resource wood on your own. Don't forget to stop by the wood-water playground. Your children will make you shine. (Don't forget a change of clothes!) Want to climb the trees? Then the high ropes climbing garden Oberwölz is just the thing for you and your loved ones. 10 different courses are available to test your fear of heights. With the Zipline you swing yourself in airy heights over the Wölzerbach. A little bit of screaming may not be missing. Your children will love the adventure. But also the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg is definitely worth a trip.

In this unique experience you can borrow toboggans from the Tonnerhütte on the Zirbitzkogel and toboggan uphill with the toboggan-suitable drag lift. Your children will cheer, no boring ascent. Once at the top, you can choose from 4 different toboggan runs for your descent, from 1,000 to 1,500m in length. Casually swing yourself and your kids onto your toboggans and race downhill. The snow splashes off the sharp curves. The ambition grows and laughing you whiz with your family around the race into the valley.

Do you feel like an adventure? Feel like a hunter and go hunting with your children. In about 10 minutes you can reach St. Lorenzen am Kreischberg. There you can hunt 30 3D figures even in winter and try out your archery skills . You will see it is not as easy as it looks.
