Golfing in the heart of the Holzwelt Murau
The Murau–Kreischberg Golf Club is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the region, combining athletic challenges with stunning natural scenery. The spacious course is nestled between the wooded slopes of the Nockberge Mountains and the lush banks of the Mur River. Forests, ponds, and wide fairways ensure relaxing rounds of golf filled with tranquility and breathtaking views.
A defining feature of the course is its distinctive wooden design, which blends perfectly with the region. Wooden palisades border the ponds, greens, and bunkers; a rustic alpine hut serves as a halfway house; and even the signage has been stylishly crafted from wood. The course combines modern golf with regional character and was named “Austria’s Best New Course” back in 2008.
The course also offers plenty of variety from a sporting perspective: undulating greens, water hazards, and spectacular semi-island and island greens ensure an exciting round of golf—whether you’re an ambitious golfer or just looking to enjoy a relaxed game.

Golfclub Lungau
The 18-hole championship course in the Lungau region of Salzburg is located at an elevation of approximately 1,050 meters and is considered one of the most beautiful courses in Austria. Surrounded by mountains and seamlessly integrated into the landscape, the course features wide fairways, natural obstacles, and consistently breathtaking views along the Mur River. Dogs are also welcome on a leash.
St. Veit – Längsee Golf Club
The St. Veit–Längsee Golf Club in Carinthia is about a 45-minute drive away. Gently undulating fairways, well-manicured greens, and the peaceful surroundings make the course particularly appealing for a relaxing round of golf.
