Hiking through Austria's largest pine forest

Starting point about 45 minutes by car from Murau Gasthof Hotel Lercher!

The path of the senses leads around the three mountain lakes of Austria's largest stone pine forest. The Turracher Höhe is a high plateau at 1,763 m in the middle of the Nockberge mountains. The Turracher lake, Scharzsee and Grünsee are framed by the peaks. This hike is especially recommended in autumn when the colors in the forests are bright.

A tip for a subsequent excursion is the"Alpin Art Gallery" museum where the largest rock crystals in the world are exhibited.

Directions:

From the Turrachersee you head towards Grünsee - here you will also find the first stations for alpine sensory experience. Continue to the Karlhütte and past to the Katscherhütte. Now it goes on at the foot of the Schoberrigel in the direction of Schwarzsee. Past the Schwarzsee, it continues along a moor, which must be partially crossed on wooden walkways. Return is then again on the hiking trail 127.
