Fishing in the Mura

In the region Murau - Kreischberg fishing is allowed in two zones of the river Mur:

Jam Bodendorf
Jam St. Georgen

Bodendorf jam

 The Bodendorf dam is a 2 km long, calmly flowing water - with accesses on both banks.

  • Length: 2.3 km from the Bodendorf power trail to the Wandritsch bridge
  • Occurrence: Brown and rainbow trout, sporadic grayling.
  • Bait: All permitted fishing methods in the Snne of the Styrian Fisheries Act. No live bait, multiple bait or insert bait. Barbs must be squeezed out. No lead under the bait. Also prohibited are Tiroler Hölzl and similar fishing methods.

Traffic jam St. Georgen

The St. Georgen impoundment is a 2.5 km long, completely quiet impoundment in the Mura River.

  • Length: 2.5 km between St. Georgen and Bodendorf power plants
  • Occurrence: Brown and rainbow trout, sporadic grayling.
  • Bait: All permitted fishing methods in the Senne of Stmk. Fischereigesetztes. No live bait, multiple bait or insert bait. Barbs must be expressed. No lead under the bait. Also prohibited are Tiroler Hölzl and similar fishing methods.
