Hotel Gasthof Lercher GmbH & Co KG really cares about making its digital services easy to use for everyone. We want to make sure our website is super easy for all users to access and that it's fully accessible, following the Federal Act on Barrier-Free Access to Websites and Mobile Applications (BaFG).
This accessibility statement applies to www.hotel-restaurant-lercher.at.
How we meet the requirements
Our website is mostly in line with the 'Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1' (Level AA) and the European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) (which follows EU Directive 2016/2102). However, there are a few things that aren't quite there yet, and we'll explain those exceptions.
Content that isn't accessible
The content listed below isn't accessible for these reasons:
a. Not compatible with accessibility rules
- Keyboard Navigation & Focus Visibility: Some controls and navigation areas can't be fully operated with a keyboard or don't have a clear focus indicator.
- Heading Structure: The way headings are marked is sometimes wrong or inconsistent, so a clear structure (H1 – H2 – H3) isn't always guaranteed.
- ALT Texts: Some images or links are missing descriptive alternative texts, or the existing ones aren't informative enough.
- Color Contrasts: Some elements have too little contrast with the background, due to our company's design.
- HTML & Semantics: Certain structural HTML elements (like landmark elements) aren't consistently used, making it harder for users of assistive technologies to navigate.
b. Disproportionate burden
- PDF Documents: Older PDF documents created before the current legal requirements came into effect aren't accessible.
- Moving Content: Image sliders that change automatically can't be paused.
- Forms & Error Messages: If a field in a form is filled out incorrectly or not at all, the cursor isn't automatically placed in that field.
c. The content isn't covered by the applicable legal regulations
- Archived Content: Certain multimedia content and PDF documents published online before June 28, 2025, are considered archived and aren't accessible.
- External Content and Embedded Third-Party Services (e.g., embedded maps or third-party plugins).

Enforcement Procedure
If you're not satisfied with the responses from the contact option mentioned above, you can send a complaint to the complaints office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the complaints office contact form.
The FFG checks these complaints to see if they're about violations of the Web Accessibility Act, especially issues with meeting accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an organization linked to it.
If the complaint is valid, the FFG will give recommendations to the federal government or the affected organizations and suggest ways to fix the problems.
