Where is the hotel located?

Our hotel is right in the heart of Murau's historic center in Styria. Murau itself is a charming old trading town nestled in a beautiful, scenic landscape.

What's the hotel's location like?

Our hotel in Styria, with its lovely garden, is right in the heart of Murau's old town – at the foot of the Schwarzenberg family's castle hill.


Are children allowed at your hotel?

Children are super welcome at our hotel! Whether it's winter or summer, the Murau adventure region offers a varied and adventurous family vacation.


Are pets allowed at Hotel Lercher?

Yes, guests are welcome to bring their furry friends along.

We charge €15.00 per day for pets (food not included) in our 3-star Budget Rooms and selected 4-star Murauer Garden Rooms.


What's included when you book a room?

Is there an elevator in the hotel?

All rooms can be reached by elevator from the reception area. However, we kindly ask guests with physical limitations to let us know in advance so we can choose the most suitable room for you. 


Is there free Wi-Fi at Murauer Gasthof Hotel Lercher?

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire hotel. Guests can get the password at the reception desk and in the information folder in their room.


Do you have air conditioning?

Because our hotel is right in the middle of Murau's old town, but also surrounded by greenery, we haven't needed air conditioning yet.


Can you park for free in front of the hotel?

Yes, guests can park for free right in front of and next to the hotel.

Questions about checking in & out

What types of rooms do you have?

Our hotel has grown over time. If you're just passing through and on a tight budget for your stay, but still want to enjoy amazing food, our Budget Rooms 3* are perfect for you!

For guests looking to relax and unwind, we suggest our Murauer Rooms 4* and Hotel Rooms 4*.

All our room types are in the same building, but they have different furnishings and levels of comfort.


When can guests check in at the hotel?

You can check in from 3 PM. If a room is ready earlier, you might be able to check in sooner.


Can I check in late?

If you're arriving after 8:00 PM, please let us know your approximate arrival time by phone or in writing so we can explain everything else.

If our restaurant is still open, you can check in as usual.

If the Restaurant is already closed when you arrive, guests will find the key in our key safe.


By what time should you check out on the day of departure?

We kindly ask you to check out by 11:00 AM.


Can I check out later?

A late check-out is possible for an extra fee, depending on availability.


When is the reception open?

The reception is open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Questions about the booking process

Is a deposit required?

When booking, we kindly ask for a deposit of € 200.00 per room. This deposit serves as a booking confirmation.

For late arrival or early departure, we charge 100% of the total package price.

If you cancel on time, your deposit will, of course, be refunded.

Does the hotel offer travel insurance?

We recommend our guests get travel cancellation insurance with Europäische Reiseversicherung.


What cancellation policies should guests expect?

To plan your vacation without worries, guests can cancel or rebook their reservation for free up to two weeks before arrival.

After that, here are the cancellation fees we charge:

  • Up to 4 days before arrival: 70% of the total package price.
  • From 3 days before arrival, for no-shows, or early departures: 100% of the total package price.

What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served from 7 AM to 10 AM.


Can we have breakfast outside in the summer?

Yes, in summer, guests can enjoy breakfast on our larch terrace in the morning sun.


Is breakfast served to us, or is it a buffet?

Guests can help themselves from our buffet.

Our breakfast selection:

  • Venison ham and venison salami from the Purgstaller family
  • Fresh goat cheese from Grabmaier-Rath organic farm

Is half board an option?

In winter, our hotel guests can enjoy a delicious 4-course dinner with salad, all part of Lercher's gourmet half-board package.

During spring, summer, and autumn, we offer half board for groups or if you ask us nicely.


What time is the half-board dinner?

Dinner is served in two sittings, either at 6:00 PM or 7:30 PM. Just let us know your preferred time when you arrive.
