Just 9 minutes by car from Murauer Gasthof Hotel Lercher, Kreischberg awaits you with extra wide and perfectly groomed ski slopes for enjoyable carving and snowboarding. This charming hotel in the heart of Styria is just perfect for your ski vacation. When you're skiing, you'll zoom down the slopes. Experience pure skiing fun at over 1,900 m above sea level with fantastic weather. In our cozy hotel, you can choose between 3-star and 4-star rooms with views of the Stolzalpe and Murau Castle, owned by the Schwarzenberg family.
Special highlights at the Kreischberg ski area
Tubing is a must-try when you arrive at the gondola's top station. You'll slide down about 200 m on three safe tracks with a "tube" and get slowed down by the opposite slope. Getting back up is super easy with the tubing lift.
You can prove you've got what it takes to be a racer on the permanent race track. You'll battle your way through about 20 gates, and your best time is automatically recorded. The descent on the speed track is also exciting. On a steep slope about 100 m long, there's a speed measurement. Speeds over 80 km/h are measured here! The Panorama Piste towards Stadl/Mur is 3 km long and extra wide.
In the Kreischberg Snowpark, you'll find perfect conditions for snowboarders and freeskiers. At 1,900 m above sea level, with 2 different lines (Beginner and Medium) and spectacular obstacles, it's the hotspot for all freestylers.
For your kids, there are adventure courses like Yabaa Dabba Doo Land, Dinopark, Ghost Train, and KreiSchi Safari with lions, elephants, and much more. The little speedsters among you can easily track their vertical meters and piste kilometers using Skiline.

Lifts and gondolas
At Kreischberg, you'll find 14 lifts. They can carry up to 17,200 people every hour. These lifts include 3 gondola lifts, with one even holding 10 people. The Sixpack is Austria's coolest 6-person chairlift, taking you from 1,600 m up to 2,000 m above sea level. Little ones get around with the baby lift. Plus, there are 4 chairlifts and 4 T-bar lifts.
The new "Kreischberg 10-seater"
Swiftly, at the end of the 2020/2021 season, the 6-person gondola (which took you from the valley station into the ski area) was replaced by a super modern and powerful 10-person gondola. The whole project (station buildings and cable car) cost around 40 million Euros!
Kilometers of slopes and difficulty levels
You'll find a total of 40 kilometers of slopes, split into 17 km of blue slopes (easy), 15 km of red slopes (medium), and 8 km of black slopes (difficult).
More information about the ski resort
The ski lifts at Kreischberg are open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. You can look forward to snow-sure runs on over 40 kilometers of slopes. 14 lifts make it easy to get up the mountain for your ski and snowboard fun. You get discounts when you buy multi-day ski passes. For even more ski fun, you can even choose your personal ski days from 6, 7, or 14-day options. Plus, there are special deals for families and dedicated Family Days during the early and late season, where kids up to 15 years old ski for free. You can safely buy your ski pass online on the ski area's website using your old Keycard, or at the ticket machine at the valley station.
At the ski depot at Intersport Pintar, right by the valley station, your gear is safely stored overnight and your boots get dried. This way, you'll start the next day with warm boots and can fully enjoy your runs. We're happy to reserve your fixed depot spot for 2 or 4 pairs of skis even before you arrive.
You can rent ski equipment at Intersport Pintar at the valley station, or at Sport "Suli" in St. Lorenzen, or at the Suli Snowboard School at the gondola's mountain station. You can even choose your equipment online before you arrive.
If you want to learn how to ski or snowboard, the best thing to do is sign up with one of the local ski and snowboard schools. The sun wakes you up in your garden room. The ground is covered in a soft white blanket, and your excitement for your ski and snowboard day at Kreischberg grows. After a hearty breakfast, you'll head to the slopes feeling energized.
At the valley station, you can easily pick up your modern equipment at Intersport Pintar. With the latest gear, perfectly suited for today's conditions, you're off to the gondola. You've already bought your ski pass ticket online, or you can use the contactless ticket machine next to the regular cash desk.
Excited, you look through the gondola windows at the slopes. The first skiers are already carving, gliding, and swooshing down the wide, perfectly groomed slopes. Arriving at the mountain station, you feel the icy, crisp winter air. You quickly warm up your muscles and head towards the 10-person gondola. Your new skis pick up speed, and your first turns make you beam. The crowd you felt in the valley playfully spreads out across the runs and lifts. The orange gondola glides elegantly past the reservoir. Your excitement builds. Past the adventure parks for kids, you test your skills and swing through the race track. With 20 gates, the course keeps you on your toes. On your next run, you immediately try the speed track. You zoom down the steep slope at over 80 km/h, leaving your competitors far behind. In the Kreischberg Snowpark, you watch pro riders, intermediates, and beginners show off their tricks over boxes, jibs, kickers, and rails. You're inspired, and you want to try a few jumps yourself.
Treat yourself to a break
Feeling frozen, you want to refuel. Maybe at the cozy Edelweißhütte at the middle station with its warm hospitality, or at Kreischberg Wirt next to the mountain station, or how about the Eagle Panorama Restaurant and Bar at the Sixpack exit? Once you're warmed up, it's time to go again. You're already looking forward to the more challenging runs at Rosenkranz. Fine powder snow everywhere you look. You dive into the fun and carve your way down. Feeling tired but happy, you reach the valley station.

Back at the hotel, you've earned a little break. You warm up your frozen body with a quick sauna session in the cozy wellness area or treat yourself to a nice bath. Suddenly, you spot your favorite book that you brought along. You have time! Curiosity takes over, and you can't wait to find out how the story ends.
When your stomach starts to rumble, you tear yourself away. Only now do you realize how hungry you are. At your table, today's recommendations are already waiting, along with a little sweet treat to finish. With a chosen glass of Styrian wine or a sip of Murauer beer, you let the evening wind down. Happy and content, you head to your room, already looking forward to your next ski day.
Location and how to get here
Getting to the Kreischberg ski area is super easy and straightforward. This snowy paradise is nestled right in the middle of the Nockberge and Niedere Tauern mountains, in the heart of Styria, Austria. You can get here from Salzburg/Munich via the Tauernautobahn and Tamsweg, or from Vienna and Graz via the Murtalschnellstraße, Bruck an der Mur, Judenburg, and Scheifling. What makes the Murau region so special is its mix of high alpine terrain and gentle winter landscapes in the valleys.
