This special high-altitude trail offers magnificent views

You'll follow the quiet mountain road up to Stolzalpe, where the regional hospital is. It used to be a sanatorium for lung diseases, but now it's home to Austria's top orthopedists who work wonders on knees, hips, fingers, and shoulders. Just before you reach the hospital, take the left turn towards Ringegg.

The high-altitude bike path takes you past beautiful farms nestled in stunning nature. You'll enjoy gorgeous views of the Rantental valley with Murau region's highest peaks: Preber at 2,741 m, Roteck at 2,742 m, and Barbaraspitze at 2,726 m. Halfway along, you'll come across a small chapel on your left. A little bench there is perfect for a break. Take in the panoramic views!

A small detour will lead you to Rottenmann Pond. This fishing pond is about 2 hectares big and full of grass carp, pike, sturgeon, and trout – a real paradise for anglers! (You can get fishing permits at the tourist office.) On your way back, you'll cycle past the old Humburger Sawmill with its water wheel and then continue along the Ranten bike path back to Murau.

You can safely store your bikes in our lockable bike garage. Then, relax in our garden restaurant with a well-deserved treat and some homemade ice cream.
