Take a little detour
As you cycle along the Mur Cycle Path towards Katsch, make sure to stop at the small branch church Maria Dorn in Saurau just before Frojach – it's definitely worth a quick visit! Once you reach the top, you'll have the Wölzer Tauern right at your feet. The Greim, one of the 8 iconic mountains of the Murau region, will feel so close you could almost touch it. You'll get back to your original route by going through Oberwölz and St. Peter am Kammersberg.
Another great spot to visit on your way to Murau is the Günster Waterfall. Just a short distance from Schöder, you'll find Styria's highest waterfall, plunging down 65 meters! After a lovely walk through the woods, you'll cross a few wooden bridges to reach the waterfall. Take a moment to listen to the powerful roar of the water. On hot summer days, the cool air here is incredibly pleasant and refreshing. There are even little benches along the path where you can sit and relax for a bit. You'll then cycle back via Rottenmann and the Ranten Cycle Path.
