Tips for safe mountain hiking

  • Careful planning
Well planned is half won! Hiking maps, literature, internet and experts will help you plan an unforgettable tour. By the way - equipment, weather and provisions also count towards planning.
  • Surefootedness
Attentive walking is the top priority in the mountains! Too fast a pace, inattention or tiredness can impair surefootedness.
  • Stay on marked trails
Never leave the marked hiking trails, because it can quickly become dangerous. You do not know what dangers lurk there for you.
  • Regular breaks
Regular breaks are not only for relaxation, but also for enjoying the scenery. Allow yourself the rest so that the body can recharge the batteries.
  • Respect for nature
Do not leave litter, avoid noise, stay on trails and respect protected areas. Also, be mindful of wildlife and grazing animals.

In winter:

  • Onion principle
Dress according to the onion principle. It is better to have more clothes with you than too little. You can always take something off.
  • Shoes
Choose good, stable and above all water-resistant shoes!
  • Grödeln
Quickly you can get to icy passages in winter. Here, danglers are a great support.
  • Tea
A hot tea in a thermos flask is a must in winter. It ensures that the body does not cool down - especially on longer tours.

Summer:

  • Weather
Especially in summer, the weather often changes. Have thereby always the weather in the view.
  • Cooling down
Take enough breaks, drink enough and allow yourself to cool down in a lake or river in between.
  • Clothing
Wear functional clothing, because it has a cooling effect and does not absorb the fluid extremely.
  • Sun protection
Do not underestimate the sun's rays on the mountain. Stay protected with a sun cap, sunscreen and sunglasses.
