Beautiful alpine trail for experienced hikers

Sadly, there's nowhere to stop for a break during this hike. The path will first lead you along a forest road, crossing a few streams, until you reach the Simabauerhütte.

Keep your eyes peeled – maybe you'll spot a local mushroom or some chanterelles! Fancy trying them? We'd be happy to prepare them for you at Lercher's Restaurant for a small fee. They're always best when they're super fresh and, especially, picked by yourself.

Hidden in the forest, you'll pass by the Simabauerkreuz, a small chapel. Just a short climb left and you're almost there! Nestled in the idyllic landscape, Hauserersee will appear before you. Roll up your trousers and try some Kneipp therapy – playing with the cool water will really refresh you! With your binoculars, you can watch the chamois up on the ridge. After a cozy picnic in the sun, you'll make your way to the Hausererhütte. The descent back to your car is via a well-marked forest road.

The best time for this tour is from May to July, depending on the weather.
